Nairobi, Kenya, October 8- Winnie Odinga, Raila Odinga’s daughter, came under fire on social media after posting cryptic tweets during Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s televised briefing on Monday evening.

Winnie, who had been inactive on X (formerly Twitter) since August, returned to criticize Gachagua’s lengthy comments about his family business and wealth. At 8:09 pm, she tweeted, “This is the longest e-citizen BRS list ever!”—with “BRS” potentially mocking the content of the DP’s address. Later, she added, “Where is a national blackout when you need it?”

Her comments quickly drew sharp criticism, with users accusing her of insensitivity. One said, “Is this what you would do if your father was president? Shut down power nationwide?” Another warned of the dangers of blackouts, especially for ICU patients.

The tweets sparked debate, with many calling her remarks inappropriate and thoughtless.
