Nairobi, Kenya, January 6- Social Media Influencer Billy Mwangi Reunited With Family After Traumatic Abduction
Billy Mwangi, a social media influencer, was reunited with his family on January 6, 15 days after his abduction in Embu town. Billy was taken from a barber shop on December 21, 2024, and endured a frightening experience during his captivity.
Speaking outside Embu Level 5 Hospital, where Billy was admitted for trauma care, Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji revealed that Billy had been held in a dark room and whipped by his abductors.
“He is seriously traumatised but safe. We thank God he has been found alive,” Mukunji stated.
Billy’s case has sparked outrage in the community, with activists demanding accountability amid rising cases of abductions in Kenya. Authorities are under pressure to address enforced disappearances, with investigations ongoing and court updates expected.
While Billy’s return provides hope, his family remains determined to seek justice and prevent similar incidents.
