Nairobi, Kenya, January 15- Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has dismissed allegations by Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi linking the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to his son’s alleged abduction.
In a statement on January 15, 2025, Sudi accused Muturi of attempting to blackmail the government and called for his resignation.
“This desperate move, coming as your political career declines, is a clear attempt at blackmail. If your son, who happens to be my agemate, was arrested, was it without reason? There are many professionals who can serve the country with more zeal. You can step aside,” Sudi posted on X.
Sudi’s remarks follow Muturi’s claims that his son, Leslie Muturi, was kidnapped on June 22, 2024, by armed, hooded gangsters along Dennis Pritt Road in Nairobi and later released after intervention by President William Ruto.
In his statement, Muturi detailed how the President contacted NIS Director General Noordin Haji, who admitted Leslie was in their custody and ordered his release. Leslie was freed within an hour of the President’s directive.
Sudi, however, dismissed the allegations as politically motivated and misleading, suggesting they were part of an attempt by Muturi to gain political mileage.
