Nairobi, Kenya, January 17- Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the government is committed to ensuring equitable development across the country as it works to complete key projects.

“We are carrying the entire country along. Leadership means ensuring no region is left behind,” he stated on Friday while hosting 1,500 Embu County residents at his official residence in Karen.

Kindiki emphasized the importance of public involvement in county development projects, urging Embu residents to identify priorities and actively monitor their implementation for faster progress. “This meeting is to discuss development priorities and how to move the county forward. I will be meeting delegations from all counties for similar discussions,” he added.

Addressing his responsibilities as Deputy President, Kindiki affirmed his dedication to fulfilling his mandate despite efforts by critics to derail him. “When we go back to the people, I must account for my time in office. I have no choice but to deliver on my mandate and improve lives. That is my focus,” he said.

He clarified that the meetings are strictly focused on development, not politics. “It would be politically irresponsible to call you here and discuss politics when we have pressing issues to address. Early politicking is not on our agenda. When the time for campaigns comes, we’ll be ready,” he said.

Embu County has already benefited from numerous development initiatives, including improvements in roads, agriculture, and electricity access. Kindiki highlighted key priorities for the region, such as resolving issues in the coffee, tea, and Muguka sectors, as well as youth and women empowerment.

“After this meeting, hold me accountable. Ask what I have done for the people of Embu,” the Deputy President concluded.
