Nairobi, Tuesday 17- Former Mike Sonko has been issued with temporary orders by the High Court barring him from publishing any defamatory content against political commentator and lawyer Miguna Miguna.

In the ruling, the court directed that the pleadings be served and scheduled the matter for directions on May 5, 2026. The judge also certified Miguna’s application as urgent and granted interim relief sought in the case.

Pending the hearing and determination of the suit, the court allowed prayer three of the application, effectively issuing a temporary injunction against Sonko.

The application restrains Sonko, or anyone acting on his behalf, from publishing statements considered defamatory, scandalous, or malicious about Miguna. It also seeks the removal of any existing content from social media platforms including X, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

The ruling, signed by High Court Judge Janet Mulwa, warned that failure to comply with the orders would attract penal consequences.

The case will now proceed to a full hearing where both parties are expected to present their arguments.
