Nairobi, November 7- The National Police Service (NPS) has released an updated notice on the nationwide recruitment of police constables set for Monday, November 17, 2025. In the statement signed by Inspector General Douglas Kanja, NPS confirmed that the exercise will proceed as earlier announced on October 31, but with a few amendments to some recruitment centres.
Ex-National Youth Service (NYS) graduates will now be allowed to report either to their home sub-county recruitment stations or to an additional centre at the NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi, which had been accidentally left out of the initial notice.
Other adjustments include revised venues for certain sub-counties in Kajiado and Narok counties. In Kajiado West, the recruitment will now take place at Ole Polos, while the Elangata Wuas exercise will be held at the DCC’s Office in Elangata Wuas. In Narok West, the recruitment centre has been corrected to Ng’osuani Centre.
NPS urged applicants to take note of these venue changes to ensure a smooth and organized exercise. The recruitment will be carried out simultaneously in 422 centres across the country, with applicants required to report by 8 am.
The Inspector General emphasized that the process will be free, transparent, and closely supervised by senior police officers and relevant government representatives. This follows a recent High Court ruling affirming that recruitment authority lies with the Inspector General and not the National Police Service Commission.
Eligible applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 28, possess a valid national ID, and have a minimum KCSE grade of D+ with at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili. They must also meet physical and medical fitness standards, including a minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches for men and 5 feet 3 inches for women.
