Nairobi, October 6- Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has stepped down from President William Ruto\u2019s Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odhiambo had been appointed as the Vice Chairperson of the Panel, which comprised prominent Kenyans recognized for their significant contributions to the promotion of the rule of law and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Panel\u2019s proposed role was to reform the country\u2019s existing legal and institutional framework on victim reparations \u2014 a system that has long fallen short in addressing public concerns over police brutality and the victimization of protesters during demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
