Nairobi, September 9- Kenya and Italy have entered into a partnership with GKSD Group to construct 15 new hospitals across the country as part of efforts to expand access to quality healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President William Ruto said the agreement will facilitate the construction of 13 Level 5 county referral hospitals and two Level 6 national teaching and referral hospitals across 15 counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new facilities are expected to increase hospital capacity and bring specialised medical services closer to communities. Kenya currently has about 12 hospital beds for every 10,000 people, significantly below the World Health Organization\u2019s recommended 25 beds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
