Nairobi, September 16- An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly attempting to smuggle tools into Ruai Police Station to help three robbery suspects escape from custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christine Njoki Gitau reportedly visited the station carrying a covered plate of rice and meat, claiming she had brought food for three friends detained over allegations of robbery with violence and gang rape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, officers conducting a routine inspection of the meal discovered a pair of pliers and shears concealed beneath the food. The tools are believed to have been intended to assist the suspects in breaking out of the station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three detainees; Emmanuel Bosire, Ismael Arisa and Brian Gatheru were arrested the previous week over allegations that they used an anonymous TikTok account to lure young women into meetings, where they allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gitau was arrested before the suspected escape plan could be carried out. The discovery has also prompted further investigations into whether other individuals were involved in the alleged scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
