Nairobi, October 12- Congolese rhumba stars Koffi Olomide and Mbilia Bel have reportedly reignited their long-standing feud during the Machoka@50 Grand Concert held at Nairobi’s Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

The event celebrated veteran Kenyan broadcaster Fred Obachi Machoka’s 50 years in broadcasting, bringing together musicians and entertainment figures for the milestone occasion.

However, reports of tensions between the two artists emerged following an alleged disagreement over the concert’s running order.

Mbilia Bel was reportedly scheduled to perform before Olomide, but delays disrupted the programme, leaving both musicians ready to take the stage around the same time. She allegedly proceeded with her performance despite the changes, a move said to have angered Olomide.

The reported incident has attracted attention on social media, with videos from the event fuelling discussions about the musicians’ relationship.

Their reported differences date back several years. In a 2021 interview, Mbilia Bel reportedly criticised Olomide over his alleged clashes with fellow musicians. In 2025, she also claimed that someone had been trying to harm her for 30 years, although she did not identify the individual.

Further reports from Saturday’s event claimed that Olomide declined to participate in the anniversary cake-cutting ceremony and appeared to brush off Machoka during a live stage moment.

Despite the reported tensions, both artists performed at the concert. The alleged confrontation has renewed public interest in their relationship, although the details of the incident remain unverified.
