Nairobi, Kenya, January 14- Cabinet Secretary nominees Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui, and William Kabogo are set to appear before a National Assembly vetting panel today, Tuesday, January 14. Mutahi Kagwe, nominated for Agriculture and Livestock Development, will be the first to face the panel at 12:00 pm in the Mini Chamber on the 1st Floor of County Hall, Parliament Buildings.
William Kabogo, the nominee for ICT and Digital Economy, will follow at 3:00 pm, while Lee Kinyanjui, nominated for Investment, Trade, and Industry, will have his hearing at 5:00 pm. The Committee on Appointments, chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, will oversee the approval process.
Members of the public were invited to submit their written affidavits and supporting evidence regarding the nominees suitability by January 3 at 5:00pm.
However, reports indicate that submissions were still being received as late as Monday, January 13, with parliamentary staff working to compile and forward relevant views to the committee.
The three nominees, have fuelled speculation among political analysts that their appointments reflect a reconciliation between President Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta.
