Nairobi, January 28- Businessman Khalif Kairo Wambui, already facing fraud charges for failing to deliver vehicles, was re-arrested outside Milimani Law Courts while attending a mention of his case. This re-arrest comes as police investigate further allegations related to his car business.

Clients have reported being defrauded after paying for vehicles that were never delivered.

In a statement on his X account before his re-arrest, Kairo addressed the ongoing delivery delays:

“We are struggling with vehicle deliveries not because we ‘stole’ money but because it’s a combination of many factors including external sabotage, aggressive growth with limited access to capital. It does happen to a lot of startups but I am confident we have found a solution.” He also revealed plans to open his company, Kai & Karo, to new investors through a crowdfunding initiative.

Kairo clarified the nature of the investment with the following disclaimer: “We are ‘testing the waters’ to gauge investor interest in an offering under Regulation Crowdfunding. No money or other consideration is being solicited. If sent, it will not be accepted. No offer to buy securities will be accepted. No part of the purchase price will be received until a Form C is filed and only through Wefunder’s platform. Any indication of interest involves no obligation or commitment of any kind.”

He emphasized that the project would be subject to U.S. securities laws through his U.S.-registered company, offering global investment opportunities.
