Nairobi, February 27-President William Ruto has congratulated candidates from his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party following their victory in all four seats contested during Thursday’s by-elections. In a message shared on X, he thanked voters in Isiolo South constituency, West Kabras, Muminji, and Evurore wards for backing UDA, stating that the outcome signals the party’s growing national strength and commitment to driving development.

Ruto also recognised the elected leaders — Tubi Mohammed (Isiolo South), Elphas Kainanga Shalakha (West Kabras), Duncan Muratia Nyaga (Evurore), and Peterson Njeru (Muminji) — expressing confidence in their ability to effectively represent their constituents. He said their wins demonstrate the trust voters have placed in them.

Despite a generally low voter turnout, UDA emerged dominant across all contested areas. In Isiolo South, Tubi Mohammed secured a commanding win with 7,352 votes, defeating his closest rival, Jubilee Party candidate Bina Tubi, who garnered 634 votes, while an independent candidate received 44 votes.

The Isiolo South seat had fallen vacant following the death of former MP Mohamed Tubi Bidu in November 2025. The race attracted attention as it featured a contest between siblings, Tubi Mohammed and his sister Bina Mohammed.

In the remaining races, Duncan Muratia Nyaga won the Evurore Ward seat with 7,853 votes, Peterson Njeru took Muminji Ward with 3,207 votes, and Elphas Kainanga Shalakha clinched West Kabras Ward with 3,317 votes.
