Nairobi, November 4- The High Court has directed senior security officials to present missing Nairobi lawyer Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi before the court, dead or alive, as investigations into his disappearance continue.

Justice Alexander Muteti issued the order after declaring the matter urgent and requiring immediate action. The court directed the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and the Director of Criminal Investigations, Mohammed Amin, to appear in person or through their appointed legal representatives.

The officials were also ordered to provide any arrest warrants authorising Abdi’s arrest and detention and explain why he should not be released immediately if he is being held in custody.

The court further directed that the Inspector General, DCI and other security agencies be served with the application and orders for immediate compliance.

The case was scheduled for an open-court hearing at 2:30pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Abdi, an advocate practising at Abshir & Njagi Advocates in Kilimani, was reportedly abducted on October 31, 2026, along Muchai Road. His vehicle, registration number KDL 356C, was later found abandoned.

The court’s directive seeks to establish his whereabouts and determine whether he is being held by security agencies.
