Nairobi, November 4- The Ministry of Health has discharged five Ebola patients after they tested negative for the virus and showed no symptoms, offering hope in the country’s efforts to contain the outbreak.
Two other patients remain in hospital receiving supportive care, according to reports published on Wednesday.
The ministry also released 46 people who had been under quarantine after being identified as contacts of the country’s first confirmed case.
Kenya has reported no new infections in the past two weeks but remains on high alert as health authorities continue monitoring the situation.
The outbreak began after a man who had travelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo through Uganda tested positive for the virus in October. The patient later died.
Health officials have urged the public to remain vigilant as surveillance and containment measures continue across the country.
