Morara Kebaso, the outspoken leader of the Inject Party and a well-known political activist, has announced a temporary break from active politics. In a detailed statement shared on his social media platforms, Kebaso revealed that the increasing police harassment and lack of genuine support from his online followers have pushed him to reevaluate his approach.
Kebaso has become popular for his relentless efforts in exposing stalled government projects. However, he highlighted that police pressure has escalated in recent months, with authorities deliberately targeting him during major national events, ensuring that their actions receive minimal public attention.
“The police attacks have intensified, and they’re becoming more strategic, striking when significant events are happening, making sure their actions go unnoticed,” Kebaso noted.
Beyond the state harassment, Kebaso expressed frustration over the disconnection between the online support he receives and the tangible backing he needs in moments of crisis. While he enjoys a strong following on social media, he pointed out that these supporters rarely show up when he faces real-life challenges.
“Many cheer me on online platforms, but when I am in real trouble, they don’t appear. I need to rethink how to mobilize my supporters more effectively,” he said.
Kebaso called on his followers to show true loyalty and commitment to his cause or step aside. “If you’re with me, stay with me through thick and thin. If not, leave now,” he urged, emphasizing the need for a more dedicated core of supporters.
He also shared advice for young, aspiring political leaders, urging them to remain independent and avoid being compromised by big-money donations or political influences. “Don’t accept donations that come with strings attached. Stay true to your principles and avoid becoming anyone’s project,” Kebaso cautioned.
As he takes a step back from active political involvement, Kebaso intends to strategize and strengthen his approach to activism. He remains determined to continue his fight but recognizes the need for more genuine support and a refined strategy moving forward.
