Nairobi, Kenya, December 3-The Ministry of Sports, in partnership with the Kenya Academy of Sports, the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA), and the Ministry of Education, has launched a Nationwide Sports Talent Camp to cultivate the next generation of sports stars.

Scheduled from December 1 to December 15, 2024, the program will bring together 3,000 young athletes identified during school games competitions. It will be held in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Eldoret as part of the Ministry’s broader vision to nurture talent and monetize sports.

Participants will receive advanced training and mentorship in various disciplines at venues such as Shimo La Tewa High School, Khamisi High School, and Mombasa Baptist High School in Mombasa; Hospital Hill High School, Parklands Arya Girls School, and Lavington Secondary School in Nairobi; Kisumu Boys High School and Kisumu Girls High School in Kisumu; and Moi Girls High School and Hill School Girls in Eldoret.

The initiative focuses on refining athletes’ skills through specialized coaching, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating pathways to national and international opportunities.

Led by experienced coaches and technical experts, the program underscores the Ministry’s commitment to shaping a globally competitive sports industry and empowering young talents to excel professionally.
