Nairobi, February 17- Tanzanian fashion icon Hamisa Mobetto was deeply moved as her fiancé, Burkinabé footballer Stephane Aziz Ki, honored tradition by paying her dowry in a grand ceremony on Saturday.
The Yanga SC midfielder presented 30 cows to Hamisa’s family, symbolizing his commitment and paving the way for their upcoming wedding.
The cows arrived in two trucks, showcasing the significance of the gesture. Representing Aziz Ki’s family, Yanga Club President Hersi Said officially handed over the dowry during a ceremony at Gofu Grounds in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam.
The event was graced by several Yanga SC players, including Pacome Zouzoua, Bakari Mwamnyeto, Yao Kouassi, and the club’s Public Relations Officer, Ali Kamwe. Hamisa made her entrance accompanied by her manager, Paul Mangoma, while 15 bridesmaids dressed in elegant attire led the way.
Overcome with emotion, Hamisa expressed gratitude for finding a partner who truly loves her. Speaking to Mwanaspoti, she reflected on her journey, saying, “I have found someone whose love is genuine, and our souls align perfectly. I pray that God guides us as we take the next step.”
Aziz Ki also shared his joy, stating that his search for a life partner had finally ended. “All the engagement formalities are now complete. The wedding will be held tomorrow, February 16, 2025, followed by the official ceremony on February 19 at The SuperDome in Masaki, Dar es Salaam,” he announced.
Throughout the ceremony, Hamisa was visibly emotional, moved by the significance of the moment. In a touching scene, her children, Dylan Abdul Naseeb and Fantasy Majizzo, embraced both her and Aziz, bringing tears of happiness to her eyes. The emotions peaked when Aziz slipped the engagement ring onto her finger, sealing their commitment.
With the traditional rites now fulfilled, the couple is set to embark on their next chapter, eagerly anticipating their upcoming nuptials.
