Nairobi, March 24- At Nyayo National Stadium, what was supposed to be an electrifying match between the Harambee Stars and Gabon took a chaotic turn for Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.
A raw, unedited video captured the dramatic moment when an unidentified mob, rather than stadium security, forcefully ejected the MP. The scene quickly escalated as hands grabbed at him, and a plastic object was thrown in his direction.
Surrounded by supporters urging him to leave, Salasya was pushed out of the stadium’s parking lot. Later, he shared a video on social media displaying the bruises he sustained, evidence of the physical altercation.
Expressing his restraint, he stated, “I didn’t want to commit blood in my hands. Ni sawa, I had options, but I chose peace.” He alleged that the attack was not spontaneous but rather an orchestrated move by individuals paid to harm him.
Refusing to be intimidated, he wrote, “Everybody on earth shall die, but we shall not be cowards at any given point. Wameninyorosha leo, next watakuja. I told my God not to commit blood in my hands; yeye mwenyewe atajua jinsi atakavyo linda mtumishi wake.”
Salasya also noted the high engagement on his video, emphasizing the public’s keen interest in the incident.
While the exact motive remains unclear, the chants of “Respect Raila” and “Respect the President” heard in the stadium suggest a possible political dimension to the attack.
