Nairobi, Kenya, November 8- An investigation into Liam Payne’s death has led to three individuals being charged in connection with his fatal fall from a balcony. The 31-year-old former One Direction member died after falling 45 feet from his third-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. On November 6, police investigating his sudden passing raided the homes of a “friend” of Payne’s and two hotel staff members.

In a statement issued on November 7, Argentina’s public prosecutor announced that three people had been charged in connection with the incident. The charges include “abandonment of a person followed by death” and “supply and facilitation of narcotics.”

The statement clarified that at the time of the fall, Liam Payne was either not fully conscious or was in a state of significantly reduced consciousness. It also mentioned that one of the accused had been accompanying Payne daily during his stay in Argentina.

One hotel employee is accused of providing Payne with cocaine twice during his stay, while another individual allegedly supplied drugs to the singer on two occasions, including on October 14.

Both individuals have been charged with two counts of supplying narcotics each.

The prosecutor’s office stated that they had gathered several testimonies and reviewed hours of CCTV footage as part of the investigation. They also confirmed a forensic extraction of Payne’s mobile device, analyzing his calls, messages, and social media activity.

In the wake of the charges, it was reported that Liam Payne’s body has been returned to the UK ahead of his funeral. A source revealed that the funeral would take place at a cathedral “close to his heart.” Liam’s father, Geoff Payne, 66, was reportedly on the flight into Heathrow with his son’s remains.
