Nairobi, September 16- Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has set another Guinness World Record after preparing the largest serving of jollof rice on Friday, September 12, 2025. This is her second Guinness recognition, following her famous 2023 cooking marathon.
Partnering with Gino Nigeria, Hilda cooked an impressive 8,780 kgs of jollof rice at a vibrant event in Victoria Island Lagos. The record-breaking dishbincluded 4,000 kgs of basmati rice, 164 kgs of goat meat, 220kgs Gino Asun and peppered chicken cubes and 600 kgs of her signature pepper mix. It took 9 hours, 1,200 kgs of gas, and a dedicated team to serve 16,600 plates.
In line with Guinness rules, none of the food went to waste, as it was shared with attendees who praised both the scale and the taste. “It was a tough challenge but so fulfilling. This victory also belongs to Nigeria,” Hilda said after the feat.
Hilda first made headlines in May 2023 with her 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, which briefly held the record for the longest cooking marathon before later being broken. With her latest achievement, she has once again placed Nigeria’s culinary culture on the world stage.
