Nairobi, Kenya, October 11- Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will face trial in May 2025 on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. The 54-year-old rapper, who was arrested last month in New York, remains in custody after being denied bail. Judge Arun Subramanian set the trial date for May 5, 2025, during a pretrial hearing on Thursday (October 10, 2024).
This was Combs’ first court appearance since his arrest, and his family, including his mother Janice and several of his children, were present.
Combs’ lawyer, Alexander A.E. Shapiro, recently filed an appeal, arguing that Combs should be released on bail, citing his willingness to face the charges and comply with strict conditions. However, the court denied the request, stating the bail package was insufficient.
Combs, who has pleaded not guilty, is charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, and related offenses. He continues to be held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
