Nairobi, Kenya, December 9- A revised lawsuit filed in federal court on Sunday accuses rapper Jay-Z of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs at a party in 2000.
Jay-Z has denied the allegations on social media, labeling the claims a “blackmail attempt” by the plaintiff’s lawyer. His legal team has not provided an official response. Initially filed in October in the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit did not originally name Jay-Z as a defendant, referring to him as “Celebrity A.”
Combs, who is already facing federal sex trafficking charges, has denied all accusations, including this one. He remains in custody and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the lawsuit, the alleged incident occurred during a party hosted by Combs after the 2000 MTV Music Awards in New York, where the girl was allegedly drugged and raped by both men.
The plaintiff is represented by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, who has filed over 20 lawsuits accusing Combs of sexual misconduct. Buzbee stated in an email that the allegations against Jay-Z are “very serious” and will be addressed in court.
The amended lawsuit alleges that Buzbee’s firm had previously sent a letter to Jay-Z proposing a mediated settlement. Jay-Z reportedly responded by suing Buzbee and allegedly orchestrating a campaign of harassment against Buzbee and his colleagues, which Buzbee claims was intended to intimidate and silence his client.
In a social media post, Buzbee emphasized that his client, the alleged victim, had not demanded money from Jay-Z but had sought confidential mediation.
Additionally, Buzbee recently filed a lawsuit against the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, which represents Jay-Z and Combs, accusing them of harassment targeting his colleagues, clients, and family.
