Nairobi, Kenya, December 10- Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has rejected claims of betrayal over his decision to join President William Ruto’s government, framing his move as an opportunity to contribute to national progress.
Speaking during an interview with Obinna TV, Joho said politics offers two options: holding the government accountable from the opposition or driving change from within. “If you’re allowed to make a difference, you should take it,” he explained, adding that his focus now is on delivering results in his new role.
Joho noted that his collaboration with Ruto is not new, recalling their work together in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) when Ruto served as deputy party leader in 2007.
His shift from being one of Ruto’s fiercest critics to a Cabinet appointee ready to support the government has raised eyebrows, but Joho insists, “We have only one Kenya and one government at a time,” emphasizing the importance of unity over division.
