Nairobi, October 7- The Kenyan entertainment scene is in mourning following the tragic death of Gengetone artist Shalkido, who lost his life in a motorbike accident.

Reports circulating online indicate that the young musician succumbed to his injuries just hours after being declared brain dead, leaving fans and fellow artists in shock and disbelief.

Shalkido, best known as a member of the popular group Sailors Gang, was celebrated for his vibrant energy, street-inspired lyrics, and his significant role in shaping Kenya’s Gengetone sound a genre that spotlighted Nairobi’s urban youth culture.

Eyewitnesses say the accident happened on the morning of October 5, 2025. Although he was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment, his condition worsened overnight.
