Nairobi, September 30- Eng. Edward Mwirigi Kinyua has been appointed as the new Director General of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), taking over from Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria, who resigned from the position.
Kinyua, who previously served as EPRA’s Director of Petroleum and Gas, will assume the role with immediate effect.
The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum said the appointment followed a competitive recruitment process conducted by the EPRA Board.
He takes over from Dr. Eng. Joseph Oketch, who had been serving as Acting Director General following Kiptoo’s resignation.
Kinyua will now lead the regulator responsible for overseeing Kenya’s energy and petroleum sector.
