Nairobi, November 17- Tanzanian singer Zuchu has pushed back against rumours suggesting her partner, Diamond Platnumz, was dropped by Pepsi over political reasons.

The claims gained traction online after users questioned whether Diamond’s recent involvement in political conversations and public events had affected his corporate deals.

In a statement posted on social media, Zuchu dismissed the reports, stressing that Diamond Platnumz is still officially working with the global soft drink giant.

She labelled the allegations as “fake news,” maintaining that nothing has changed in his endorsement arrangement.

“Pepsi did not drop him. He is still very much their ambassador,” she said, responding to the speculation that had stirred debate among fans and entertainment followers across the region.

Her clarification came after hours of online chatter sparked by questions over why Diamond had not appeared in fresh Pepsi campaigns.

The rumour mill spun quickly, with gossip pages fuelling discussions about whether the brand had cut ties with the star.

The speculation emerged after social media users observed Diamond’s growing presence in political spaces, leading some accounts to suggest this may have jeopardised his commercial partnerships—especially his long-running collaboration with Pepsi.

Screenshots and comments claiming he had been removed from the deal circulated widely, linking his political engagements to supposed changes in his endorsement status.

The story spread rapidly, prompting reactions from fans, industry commentators and gossip platforms.

As the conversation intensified, multiple entertainment pages amplified the claims, forcing Zuchu to intervene and clarify that Diamond Platnumz’s Pepsi contract is still intact.
