Nairobi, Kenya, October 16- Lupita Nyong’o recently became emotional as she honored her late ‘Black Panther’ co-star, Chadwick Boseman, during a tribute at the BFI London Film Festival. The 41-year-old actress, reflecting on her grief, shared that she doesn’t shy away from the pain of losing him, despite the lingering sorrow from his passing in 2020 due to colon cancer at age 43.
Speaking during a Q&A session about her career, Lupita revealed she hasn’t been able to bring herself to watch the 2018 Marvel blockbuster since Chadwick’s death. “I haven’t seen the film since Chadwick died,” she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
Gathering herself, she continued, “Grief is just love with no place to go. I don’t run from the tears or the sadness. It’s something you live with. I’m not sure I’ll ever stop crying for my friend, but at the same time, I feel so fortunate that we get to see him on screen, alive. That’s truly wonderful.”
Lupita also disclosed that she was initially in talks to appear in a different Marvel project when the opportunity to star in ‘Black Panther’ came her way.
