Nairobi, January 27- Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali is back in the hospital after a second knee surgery following complications from an initial procedure done in Mombasa in December, last year.

The MP, who sustained a knee injury during the East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games in Mombasa, had initially expressed optimism after undergoing a successful surgery late last year. However, new challenges have necessitated further medical intervention.

” I am however informed by my doctor that my mobility will be limited for atleast 3 months to allow for full recovery. I will therefore be suspending all political engagements and activities during this period but wish to assure all Nyali Constituents that office operations will run as usual. Please keep me in vour prayers as I recuperate and I hope to bounce back even stronger. Mungu wa kwetu sote.”

On Thursday 23rd 2025, Ali underwent his second knee surgery, while the operation was reportedly successful, doctors have indicated that his recovery journey is far from over. A third surgery, scheduled for six months from now, will involve the implantation of an artificial ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) to restore full knee function.

This situation has caused the MP to pause his participation in Parliament and it’s Commission. His constituents will also face a delay in bursary disbursement for the first time attributing to his inability to personally oversee the process.

The MP remains committed to serving his constituents, even if from a distance, and has called on his supporters to keep him in their prayers as he navigates this challenging time.
