Nairobi, January 29- Over 1,200 undocumented Kenyan immigrants in the United States are experiencing fear and uncertainty as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to enforce a mass deportation plan.

According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), more than 1.4 million non-citizens are on its non-detained docket with final removal orders, including 1,282 Kenyans at risk of deportation.

This situation arises as the Kenyan immigrant population in the U.S. surpasses 100,000.

“We’re scared. It feels like we are not safe. We don’t know what’s going to happen. There’s panic and chaos,” said Sarai Marquez, a Mexican national.

Trump, who centered his campaign on a strict immigration stance, has pledged to issue nearly 100 executive orders, with at least 10 directly addressing immigration.

Recently, he declared a national emergency over border security and called for military involvement to speed up deportations.

On Monday, the U.S. Department of Defense released footage purportedly showing migrants boarding a deportation flight at Fort Bliss, Texas.

In the video, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are seen escorting individuals in chains and handcuffs onto military aircraft. The footage is dated January 23.

Upon taking office, Trump declared illegal immigration a national emergency, directing the military to bolster border security, broadly banning asylum claims, and seeking to limit birthright citizenship.
