Nairobi, January 31- Nairobi businessman Khalif Kairo, the owner of Kai & Karo, has thanked Kenyans for their financial support as he grapples with legal troubles and cash flow issues. Kairo has been in and out of police custody over allegations of taking payments for vehicles but failing to deliver them.

His most recent arrest occurred outside Milimani Law Courts while attending a mention of his case, as authorities continue investigating additional fraud claims.

Despite these challenges, Kairo assured his supporters that he is committed to resolving the situation and posted a paybill pleading for a donation from his fans and friends.


“Due to this legal issues, our we funder campaign was shut down last night after crossing the USD 100,000 mark. All is not lost however , i am directly appealing to my supporters, friends , old clients and associates to chip in whatever amount they can and give us a fighting chance against the unknown forces that are sabotaging my company. Proceeds can be sent to theaccount below. This is not an investment but a donation. Once the dust settles, we will issue a statement and audit trail of how we will utilize the funds raised in rescuing our company.”

He acknowledged the impact of his legal troubles on his business, stating, “That public goodwill despite our failures is one of the reasons I haven’t given up. Our offices will re-open, and we will expedite all pending vehicle deliveries to ensure all our clients are sorted out. May God bless you.”

Before his latest arrest, Kairo defended his company, attributing the delays to external sabotage, aggressive growth, and limited access to capital rather than fraud. “We are struggling with vehicle deliveries not because we ‘stole’ money but because it’s a combination of many factors… It does happen to a lot of startups, but I am confident we have found a solution.”
