Nairobi, February 13- Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has stated that there is no issue with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga endorsing Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for re-election in the county’s 2027 gubernatorial race.

Speaking on Citizen TV, Babu emphasized that his own endorsement comes from God and the people of Kenya, as reflected in a recent Infotrak Research poll that ranked him as the country’s best-performing legislator.

“If Baba (Raila Odinga) endorsed Sakaja, there’s nothing wrong with that. I have been endorsed by the Almighty God and Kenyans, and the results speak for themselves,” he said.

His remarks come despite his publicly expressed interest in running for Nairobi Governor in 2027.

Babu further stated that he is happy for Sakaja, noting that both of them are young leaders. He clarified that any disagreements between them are purely ideological and not personal, as he is also a Nairobi resident who expects quality service delivery.

“Sakaja is my brother, and like me, he is a young leader. While we may have ideological differences, there is nothing personal. I live in Nairobi, pay taxes here, and deserve proper services from the Governor, just like any other resident,” he said.
