Nairobi, October 13- Leading Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operator Super Metro Sacco has announced plans to enter the taxi business with the upcoming launch of a new cab-hailing service dubbed SuperGo Taxis.

In a notice shared on Monday, October 13, 2025, through its official social media pages, the popular matatu Sacco revealed that the new service would be launched soon, signaling its entry into the fast-growing taxi market.

“SuperGo Taxi Coming Soon!!!” the announcement read, accompanied by a promotional banner showcasing the design of the upcoming taxis.
“When the ride’s on time, the mood stays prime. We move joyfully,” the post added.

Although Super Metro did not disclose the exact launch date, the news was met with excitement from its loyal customers.

The Sacco, which operates over 500 buses and ferries approximately 170,000 passengers daily across Nairobi and its environs, has built a strong reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction an advantage it aims to leverage with its new service.

The move comes as Kenya’s ride-hailing sector continues to expand, even as major players in the market grapple with pricing disputes and driver dissatisfaction.

Super Metro now becomes the first matatu Sacco to diversify into the digital taxi space, adding to its growing portfolio that includes parcel and courier services, charter transport, and even an insurance agency.

The Sacco currently operates from 18 stages across Nairobi and beyond, including Nairobi CBD, Kikuyu, Kinoo, Kabiria, Ngong, Kahawa West, Westlands, Roysambu, Kitengela, Juja, Thika, Makongeni, Malaa, Juja Farm, Regen, Mfangano, and the Bus Station.

In addition to its local routes, Super Metro also runs the Super Metro Executive Coach, offering long-distance travel along the Nairobi–Kampala route.
