Nairobi, September 21- A 26-year-old woman was arrested at Buruburu Police Station after police allegedly discovered rolls of bhang hidden inside a loaf of bread she had taken to her detained boyfriend.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the woman had visited the station to see her boyfriend and asked officers at the report office to deliver the bread to him. Officers reportedly became suspicious after noticing that the bread package had already been opened and decided to inspect it.
The search allegedly uncovered five rolls of bhang and a matchbox concealed inside the loaf. Police later searched the woman’s jacket and reportedly found seven additional rolls, bringing the total recovered to 12.
The woman was taken into custody, with the recovered items kept as exhibits. She is expected to appear in court after police complete the necessary processing.
The DCI also reported a separate drug-related arrest in Thika, where a man was allegedly found with 300 rolls of bhang and an additional three kilogrammes of the drug after attempting to evade a police roadblock on a motorcycle.
