Nairobi, February 18- The family of a Strathmore University student who died at Mass House is raising concerns over possible foul play, as autopsy results challenge the initial police account of events.
The victim’s brother took to social media in a now-viral post, urging Kenyans to help seek justice. He revealed that the autopsy conducted on Monday confirmed that his brother had been killed, contradicting earlier claims by the club that the young man was found collapsed on the stairs of the popular entertainment venue.
“Goodmorning Kenyans, please assist me. I lost my brother on Sunday at Mass House. The police report stated that he was found collapsed on the stairs, but the autopsy report shows he was killed,” he posted.
This revelation has sparked widespread outrage, with many Kenyans demanding accountability from both the club’s management and law enforcement.
Authorities from Karen Police Station are now handling the case and are reviewing CCTV footage from the night of the incident. The victim’s brother, sensing inconsistencies between the police report and the autopsy, turned to the public for support.
“They are the ones investigating. When I noticed the discrepancies between the statement and the autopsy, I knew something was off, and that’s when I asked for help. You have come through in a big way. I’ll use all the information I’ve received so far,” he shared.
Concerned Kenyans have since advised the family to engage legal representation to ensure a thorough investigation.
In response to the incident, Mass House issued a statement expressing condolences to the victim’s family and confirming their cooperation with authorities.
“Although we are unable to share specific details regarding the incident, we at Mass House are fully cooperating with the relevant authorities to understand what transpired,” the statement read in part.
The club also reassured its patrons of its commitment to transparency and promised to provide updates as investigations progress.
This tragic incident has reignited discussions about the safety of Nairobi’s nightlife venues, with growing calls for enhanced security measures, stricter surveillance, and better-trained security personnel to protect revellers.
